I realize now that I have been working with clown I realize now that I have been working with clown figures for a very long time, not only for my current exhibition at Galeria Isolina Arbulu. And especially the woman as clown: not being taken seriously, hiding behind a mask, acting 'lightheartedly', dismissing things with a joke, etc., etc. And while asking the question whether we want to join the circus... So finally, some works could find a spot again. Here you see "Marching girls". Although the work is still in a sort of 'progress', I am very happy with it on the wall like this. My work "Send in the clowns". It is knitted from My work "Send in the clowns". It is knitted from jute rope, a very stiff material. It has become a kind of garment; if it suits you to play the clown, you put it on. If you don't feel like it, you take it off and hang it on the coat rack. The way it is currently exhibited at Galeria Isolina Arbulu, it seems to have become a kind of Puppet Master. The clown who rules that world. Surrounding him are two female characters: one a kind of Ragdoll that hangs onto whatever you throw her down; she is very flexible.
